The Indian Sojourn is a luxurious 8-day, 7-night rail journey aboard the Deccan Odyssey. Beginning in Mumbai and ending in Delhi, this trip takes you through a rich cultural and historical trail across India. From the shimmering palaces of Rajasthan to the iconic Taj Mahal and vibrant markets of Jaipur, each stop offers a unique taste of India’s heritage, architecture, and cuisine—all while enjoying the comfort of one of the world’s finest luxury trains.

Day 1: Saturday – Mumbai (Departure)
Arrive at Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus by 15:30 hrs for check‑in and registration. Enjoy a traditional welcome with a drink. Once onboard, the Deccan Odyssey departs for Vadodara.
Dinner onboard.
Overnight stay on the train.

Day 2: Sunday – Vadodara
After breakfast, explore the grand Laxmi Vilas Palace, built in 1890. Visit the Maharaja Fateh Singh Museum showcasing royal artworks. Later, enjoy a folk performance and traditional lunch at the palace.
Return to the train for evening relaxation and dinner.
Overnight stay onboard.

Day 3: Monday – Udaipur
Arrive in the romantic city of Udaipur, surrounded by lakes and hills. Visit the City Palace complex and Crystal Gallery. Take a boat ride on Lake Pichola for beautiful views of Jag Mandir and the Lake Palace.
Lunch at a city hotel followed by free time to shop or relax.
Return to the train.
Dinner and overnight onboard.

Day 4: Tuesday – Jodhpur
Morning is free to relax onboard or enjoy optional activities. After lunch, head into the old city of Jodhpur. Explore the majestic Mehrangarh Fort and walk through the bustling bazaars.
Enjoy high tea at the fort with panoramic views.
Return to the train in the evening.
Dinner onboard and overnight stay.

Day 5: Wednesday – Jaipur
After breakfast, visit the Amber Fort, known for its artistic Hindu‑style architecture. Drive past the Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds). Visit the City Palace and the Jantar Mantar observatory.
Lunch at a heritage hotel, followed by shopping or local exploration.
Return to the train.
Dinner and overnight onboard.

Day 6: Thursday – Agra
Arrive in Agra and visit the magnificent Taj Mahal, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Marvel at its marble architecture and detailed inlay work.
After lunch at a luxury hotel, visit the beautiful Itmad‑ud‑Daulah (Baby Taj) and the historic Agra Fort, which houses the Mirror Palace and Diwan‑i‑Khas.
Optional: Relax with a spa session or explore local markets.
Return to the train as it departs for Sawai Madhopur.
Dinner and overnight stay onboard.

Day 7: Friday – Sawai Madhopur (Ranthambore)
Today, explore the wild beauty of Ranthambore National Park, known for its population of Royal Bengal Tigers.
After breakfast, head for a thrilling jungle safari, spotting tigers, leopards, deer, wild boars, and a variety of birds. Return to the train for lunch.
In the afternoon, head out again for another safari experience.
Return to the Deccan Odyssey in the evening, relax with a drink, and enjoy dinner as the train departs for Delhi.

Day 8: Saturday – Delhi (Journey Ends)
The Deccan Odyssey arrives at Delhi Safdarjung Railway Station. Enjoy breakfast onboard before completing check‑out formalities.
Your unforgettable journey through India’s royal cities, heritage sites, and wildlife ends here.
