The Maharashtra Wild Trail is a luxurious 7-night, 8-day journey on the Deccan Odyssey. Starting and ending in Mumbai, this route offers a perfect mix of heritage and wildlife. From the ancient cave temples of Ellora and Ajanta to thrilling jungle safaris in Tadoba and Pench, this trip also includes vineyard visits and spiritual sites—all in the comfort of one of India’s finest luxury trains.

Day 1: Saturday – Mumbai (Departure)
Arrive at Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus by 15:30 hrs to begin your journey on the Deccan Odyssey.
After completing registration, enjoy a traditional welcome ceremony with a welcome drink. Once settled into your cabin, the train departs for Aurangabad. Take time to explore the onboard facilities and relax.
Dinner will be served onboard.
Overnight stay on the Deccan Odyssey.

Day 2: Sunday – Ellora Caves (Aurangabad)
The train arrives in Aurangabad early morning. After breakfast onboard, drive to the Ellora Caves, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for 34 rock‑cut shrines dedicated to Hinduism, Buddhism, and Jainism. Don’t miss the impressive Kailash Temple.
Later, visit Daulatabad Fort, Bibi‑ka‑Maqbara (a Taj Mahal replica), and the famous 52 gates of Aurangabad.
Lunch is served onboard. In the evening, return to the train, unwind, and enjoy a delicious dinner featuring local cuisine.

Day 3: Monday – Aurangabad
After a relaxed breakfast, begin your sightseeing of Aurangabad with a visit to Bibi‑ka‑Maqbara. Then, explore a local weaving center, renowned for the production of Himroo fabric, a traditional textile art.
Return to the train for lunch. Spend the afternoon at leisure or enjoy recreational activities onboard.
In the evening, enjoy cocktails/mocktails at the train’s lounge followed by dinner as the train moves towards Pench.
Overnight stay on the Deccan Odyssey.

Day 4: Tuesday – Ramtek (Pench National Park)
Early morning arrival at Pench National Park. After breakfast onboard, head out for a thrilling game drive to spot a wide range of wildlife including leopards, jungle cats, deer, wild pigs, and more.
Return to the train for brunch. In the afternoon, enjoy another safari into the lush forest, home to teak trees and rich birdlife like Indian pittas, hornbills, buzzards, and the green pigeon (Maharashtra’s state bird).
Return to the train by evening. Dinner is served as the train departs for Tadoba.

Day 5: Wednesday – Warora (Tadoba Tiger Reserve)
Arrive at Chandrapur station. Start the day with an early morning safari in the Tadoba Tiger Reserve, known as the “Land of Tigers.” You may spot wild dogs, gaurs, sloth bears, leopards, and tigers.
After the safari, have breakfast at a forest lodge, followed by a wildlife documentary screening.
Enjoy lunch at the lodge and return to the train. The rest of the day is free to relax onboard as the train continues toward Jalgaon.
Dinner and overnight stay on the Deccan Odyssey.

Day 6: Thursday – Ajanta Caves
The train arrives at Jalgaon in the morning. After breakfast onboard, depart to explore the world‑famous Ajanta Caves, a UNESCO site featuring 30 ancient Buddhist caves with murals, sculptures, and carvings.
Return to the train for lunch. Spend the afternoon enjoying onboard amenities such as a movie screening, carrom, or a relaxing spa session as the train travels to Nashik.
Dinner is served onboard.

Day 7: Friday – Nashik
Arrive in Nashik by morning. After breakfast, take a walking tour along the Godavari Ghats to observe local rituals. Visit the bustling Wednesday Market for local shopping.
Later, head to the Grover Zampa Vineyards for a guided wine tour and tasting session. Sample varietals like Chenin Blanc, Chardonnay, and Pinot Noir. Enjoy a fresh lunch at the vineyard.
Return to the train as it begins its journey back to Mumbai. Spend the evening enjoying the train’s facilities.

Day 8: Saturday – Mumbai (End of Journey)
The train returns to Mumbai and halts at Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus.
After an early breakfast, complete check‑out formalities. Your luxury wildlife and heritage journey comes to an end. You may choose to continue your stay in Mumbai or head to the airport for your onward journey.
